Why do they call the small candy bars the "fun sizes"? Wouldn't be more fun to eat a big one?

Weekend Wedding

Posted by Pete on September 20th, 2005

Went to Cleveland this weekend to see my cousin David get married to Julie. This was on my dad’s side of the family and I don’t get to see them much so it was really nice to be able to spend some time with everyone.

Below are a few pictures:

No TV and No Beer make Homer go something, something..

Posted by Pete on September 13th, 2005

Go Mad? Don’t mind if I do! I never thought I watched much TV but this past week and a half has been pretty difficult considering I don’t have cable hooked up yet. I’ve resorted to busting out my old Watchman and trying to point the antennae to anything that comes in. I feel like a junkie crawling around the floor trying to get good reception.

Between that and no Internet access I feel totally cut off from the world. The funny thing is a while back I actually considered going a month without TV to see if my life would become more productive; more reading, cleaning, getting out and doing more things. I don’t think I would have made it a whole month now.

Next Monday the cable guy shows up and I’ll once again be reunited with a long lost friend (the cable, not the cable guy).

And the beer you ask? Well, that’s not a problem. I made a wonderful discovery last night after coming back from the grocery store. My fridge has a shelf that holds a 30 pack perfectly!

Moved in but still unpacking

Posted by Pete on September 9th, 2005

After a long holiday weekend, I’m finally out of my apartment and officially in my condo. With the help of Britt, Drew and Matt I was able to get most things set up and now all that’s left is unpacking some boxes and getting rid of the things I never use anymore. Some will be donated, some will be pitched and some will be sold. Anyone need a computer hutch or a gas grill?

I’ve already noticed some differences in condo living vs. apartment living. For instance my insurance is cheaper. That’s probably due to the HOA fees but I had already factored those into my monthly payments so it was nice to hear that something actually costs lest than expected.

Also, I’ve become a real ass when people are over (just ask Britt and Matt about moving day). All sharp object that could potentially ding the walls or floors must be left outside and so-help-me, if anyone spills anything while over here I’m going to lose it.

Another advantage is just the word “condo” instead of “apartment” which, to me just, sounds nicer. For instance if a girl says, “No, I don’t want to come up to your condo for a drink…take me home!” I think that sounds much classier than, “No I don’t want to come up to your apartment for a drink, take me home!” :)
