Ever seen on of those annoying Vonage commercials? I signed up for VoIP (Voice-Over IP) the other night since my cable company doesn’t offer digital phone service in my area and this seemed like something a gadget geek would do. VoIP is basically having a phone that uses your Internet connection to send and receive conversations instead of a phone line.
I haven’t tried it out yet but there are some interesting features such as the ability to get an email whenever you have a voicemail. Forwarding that email to my cell phone would let me know anytime I have a message at home.
There’s also the ability to set it to call your home phone and another number (cell phone) at the same time so you can pick up either and talk. More reviews coming up on this once I get it and install it but so far it seems exciting.
Basically from now on, if you call and I don’t answer, I’m ignoring you.
