  • What I'm investigating

I recently upgraded my computer to a laptop. The time had come, I was using a home-built desktop computer that had a 750 MHz processor and it was just too slow.

So what do I do with this old computer now that I no longer need it? There are a lot of options out there. Use it as a server, learn Linux, donate it, trash it…(be friendly to the environment!)

In the end I took out the hard drive and put it into an external hard drive case so that I can easily plug it into my laptop to backup my music, photos, etc. Actually it was very easy and I’m surprised I haven’t heard about more people doing this. For about $30-$50 you can buy an external hard drive case and it only takes about 15 minutes to install the hard drive and be up and running.
