  • What I'm investigating

For those that haven’t heard of Chumby, take note. In my opinion its a positive step in moving the Internet from an active to passive form of media. What do I mean by active and passive? I’m guessing for most of us, checking email, weather, sports scores, etc. involves logging into a computer and navigating to each site. We actively search for that information. Imagine waking up with this gadget next to your bed which has all that information ready for you already being displayed…passively displaying what you’re most interested in.

Goodbye laptop? Not at all, but this appears to be something to help pass important information without starting up a computer.

For now, Chumby isn’t for sale yet (early spring) but they do seem to offer the ability for developers out there to create their own programs to load and run, so for those technically inclined, you can customize Chumby to deliver whatever you want.

Something to say?
