Cairns/Port Douglas is right near the rain forest which is why you'll see so much vegetation in a lot of these pictures. A couple of points worth mentioning, the path from the huts (where we stayed) to the lobby was a dirt road in the middle of the forest. A walk back from dinner was an adventure at night as there were spiders, snakes, frog and geckos all over the place. The ocean was beautiful but in the summer the Box Jellyfish are plentiful and one sting can kill you in three minutes.
